Mr is taking this time to bask in the sun, but he doesn't have an eye mask, so he improvises.
Following my adventures as an expat, stay at home wife, and everything in between.

Homeward Bound
I flew home and spent 5 hours in the Atlanta airport.
I went to my oldest Niece's confirmation and afterwards we went out to lunch.
I took my MAT test, and after waiting a week I got my results, I was in the 87th percentile over all, And 78th in my intended major. I hope that means I can get in.
My Mom set up a meeting with my Great Uncle and we worked on some Ancestry, they shared some pictures they had.
Two of my nieces turn 13 this spring/summer, and since I don't plan on going back to Michigan until Christmas I took them out for their day with a
aunt Lisa. They both wanted to go shopping, one was looking for summer clothes and the other a dress for her spring formal.
I went ice skating
And bike riding
It really is a fun day to spend with them, I let them choose everything, from what we do to where we eat. And we talk, and it's nice to spend some one on one time with them as they are becoming teenagers.
My family got together for Easter, it turned out to be a beautiful day, so after lunch we played frisbee and tag outside. My grandma even stopped by.
I also had to squeeze in a ton of shopping. Since I needed to get everyone birthday presents before I left, and I also needed to freshen up my wardrobe :)
And while I was out one day I met up with two girls who used to work for me in India, but they have now moved to Michigan! It was really nice to see them.
One of the girls brought some Indian deserts, they were pretty good!
The day before I left I accidentally broke a bracelet I had bought in China :( but luckily I know a girl in Mexico who was headed to China and she said she would pick me a new one up.
And at night I finished up a gift for Josh, for our 9th anniversary present, some Willow coasters... Now to hold on to them until September.

Day 423
While waiting for Josh to get home from work I cut into some fabric I picked up at the sewing symposium a few years back.
And started on my October block.
Days 421 & 422
I think I'm all packed... That's right I am headed home to Michigan for 2 weeks for Easter.
So Mr and I have been hanging out.
I helped one of my friends make a spring costume for her daughter's spring parade at school.
The house next door is getting worked on and now there are construction workers looking in my yard..
They could step right over the electric fence and get in!
I finished the Dresden September quilt block for my calendar quilt.
And I went to pick Josh up from work after his trip and saw a beautiful sunset.

Day 419
Today is pi day (3.14)
(Can you tell I'm way behind on updating my blog?)
But I decided today was the day I was going to make my first ever pie.
I found a recipe online for tiny cupcake sized pies, I thought this will be great since I don't really like pies.
(So why make one?)
I wanted to make a pie, because I feel it is something you should know how to make...
First I peeled the apples.
At home , in storage I have an apple peeler that I picked up at a garage sale, with the intention of making pie, I've never used it.
But it would have made this task a lot faster.
Then I chopped the apples into tiny squares (remember I'm making cupcake sized pies)
I mixed them with spices and lined the cupcake pan with pie crust (which I made myself) then put in the filling and then I decided to try to make me look adorable... Let me tell you this is time consuming.
After one batch of cupcake pies, I was so over it!
So I decided, let's make a big pie,
I had enough to make one big pie.
Don't they look adorable!
After talking with my grandma and mom on the phone I figured out how to bake the pie.
Josh tried it and told me it was bland... Maybe because they don't sell nutmeg here? Probably.
And my grandma said she puts tapioca in hers... Weird right?
I won't be making these pies again...

Day 416
Another chilly day.
Mr is mainly interested in cuddling, and keeping warm, but who can say no? He is so cute!

Day 413
Today I tried a candy that was in a bag from one of Josh's coworkers.
It was terrible, probably because I don't like mangos... But I was hoping it would taste good, it was bad, I spit it out.
Then in the evening we took Mr in for his yearly vet appointment. His first in Mexico.
He did very well, and laid on the table calmly the whole time. I don't think this vet does as thorough of a job, but mr got his shots, one was a dog rabies shot, probably because he is so big and he wrote a prescription for us to get meds in the US, all in all a good visit.
When we got home Mr was able to eat and he was happy
Then in the evening Mr and I cuddled after his tough day.
Day 412
Today was a beautiful day! And the last day my friends and I would all be together before Easter, since we are all traveling for Easter during different times. So to celebrate St. Patrick's day I invited them over for a shamrock shake! A recipe I of course found on Pinterest.

Days 408 & 409
So I looked out the upstairs window and this happened.
They have been working on the other side of our wall building a neighborhood, we just didn't expect them to build a house essentially in our back yard!
Now we have to move.
The cement truck came
But Mr slept through all of their noise
And in the evening I made cauliflower pizza crust
