Day 438

I've been working on ancestry and look what I found!
Number 1 on the page is from Josh's family and #2 on the page is from mine!
We didn't grow up in the same states! But a long time ago, 100 years before we met our families were neighbors! It was meant to be :)

Also look at how far the house behind us is coming.

Day 266

Thankfully the quilt turned out amazingly! Phew!
I'm super happy!
I only need to sew on the tag.

And I found out that state files on ancestry were free, so I spent most of the day attached to the computer! And I got some great info, including a death record for my great grandma's sister that we have been searching for!!!!

Day 178

I have no pictures today,
Why you might ask? Well, we did cook dinner, but I don't remember what we made, I spent most of my day at the computer, after talking to my parents first thing in the morning, they had been doing a little ancestry the day before out in the cemeterys. So I got sucked in and spent my entire day searching death records for my German Lutheran family in Detroit. I found a ton of them, but not he one we were looking for!!! Ugh!

Day 71

So I woke up early again.
And waited, and waited for the guy that was supposed to fix the heaters.
11:30 am, I get a call, they aren't going to make it... And want to reschedule for tomorrow, I said, no, I'm busy!

In the meantime, I prepared the chicken lime burrito stuff...

But then, I forgot to put it in... Oops
So we decided to go to subway for dinner.

Then our last spanish class of the week, only one day was tough this week, I feel a little more confident, and I was able to apply some of my new knowledge while shopping at the grocery store, so that was good.

Update,
I forgot to mention it was ancestry Thursday!
I did a lot of research trying to find information on this school my Grandpa had told me he went to in a report imhad written sometime between 4th-5th grade I believe... But I couldn't find anything, so it gave up and called Detroit public schools. They had records back to the 30s so they are going to look for me :) yey! I can't wait to find out information on that!
I also added 18 people to my tree to bring it to 1073 people!

Day 25

Today was overcast, foggy, and depressing, I felt like it was 6pm all
I cleaned up the house, and waited for someone to come over and help fix the cable,
Phew! All better and I found CNN in English! Yey!

The I Skyped with my sister ironed and scrubbed some floors... Another exciting day!
Then when Josh got home, I went for a run, I finally ran 3 miles woot woot, and in a decent time, I am so happy!
Also I fell in love with strawberry Gatorade!

Also, I called my parents for some information on my sewing machine, I was having a problem winding bobbins, but I finally got it fixed, when I was talking to them, my Mom mentioned that her sister had heard from a long lost relative that they would be in town, and would love to meet up with her, but unfortunately she was too busy and wouldn't be able to make it.
Recently, well really the past year or two I have gotten into genealogy with my sister and Dad, so I was pretty interested to hear about this!
As the story goes, my great Aunt moved to Mexico as a Baptist missionary to work in an orphanage, she met and married her husband and they had 6 kids, a couple of those kids moved to California and Texas, but beyond that we knew nothing, this long lost relative is in that family! I hope she can fill in some of the gaps! I can not wait to meet up with her!
Also there were stories about how my Great Uncle was a cab driver and had to have someone sleep in his car so no one stole it and that they didn't really live together, and there were a lot of questions.
I think because of this story there were a lot of reservations in my family for me to move to Mexico.

End of last year

Well sometime in December I posted my last post of last year. BUTTTTTT....a lot of stuff happened...

I got the yellow quilt back from Teresa looking great all quilted and I put on my first print border

Then I was in a wedding at the end of December and the bride made all of these for the bridesmaids

and while I was at the church which happened to be my Grandma's church I saw this quilt

which my Grandma helped make, at the roots are the names of the founders of the church, and the leaves represent each member

overall this has been a great quilting year, i learned a lot, and I know I will do great next year :D
