Days 337- 340

My last days in Mexico for a while. 

I unpacked from one trip, did laundry cleaned house, and started packing for another, this one longer, 5 weeks, 3 holidays and 2 weddings.

Mr knew we were planning to leave and was inhibiting me getting ready. And our lime trees have huge limes again!

Okay, maybe huge isn't the word...

But we are off to our hotel by the airport for our early flight out tomorrow.

By the Bay

I did a little googling and it looked like there was a national park, called Golden Gate national park.

There is indeed, however, there is also a city park called that.

Don't get confused... we did, we ended up at the city park, it ended up being a ton of walking, (my blisters had went down a bit, but I still couldn't wear shoes) but it was beautiful.

This is a national sea shore, it was cold in the 60's and windy, no wonder no one uses it!!

We found this Japanese tea garden, they served Japanese tea, I got a cup, it was good! I am thankful we got there early enough to not have to pay $6 to get in and then buy the tea too! They open at 9 and the garden is free entry for one hour!

They had a beautiful outdoor stage between two museums, and a botanical garden.

After our trip to the golden gate park we decided we would head down to Fisherman's wharf via cable car. Sadly we waited in line, and were on the cable car when it broke down, and they said the wait would be a couple of hours, so we got off and took an old electric train down instead 

This car is from Italy and I really liked how everything was wood and it had real lights on the inside, it was really cool

We were able to see the sea lions resting on their docks

Had a great lunch

Toured a bakery, Where I saw the largest Mixers ever! 

Then we hiked up a very steep hill to see the crookedest street

out on a dock to see San Francisco from the Bay

And finally we found the National park we had been looking for, but the visitor center had closed for the day, so we decided to try it out the next.

Day 182

Our biggest lime fell off the lime tree today. I cut it open and it smelled like lime! But, there was really not much other than peel.

I spent some good quality time with Mr. Meow today.

And he spent most of his day being adorable as usual.

Josh came home from work, we ate a quick dinner then he headed out to pick up some guys from work that were in visiting and took them out to dinner since they had just arrived, then when he got home at 11pm he tried to stay awake because he had to go back to work at 1:30, I decided to stay up to make sure he work up and went to work. I watched pretty much the entire season 3 of Downton Abbey today, I will watch the season 4 I got for Christmas this week too :) I hope I get season 5 for my birthday, hint hint :)

Day 177

The day started out with a goodbye to a friend/ex-pat. She is headed back to Michigan for the summer.

Then I did a bit of sewing

Completing all of the squares, for block a and even sewing one square!

Then off to Spanish class, where I saw this growing in the palm tree, what is it???

Day 152

So we finally did it!

We bought lime trees!

I hope they survive! The wind really wiped them up after we potted them!

They already have tiny baby limes on them! I'm pretty excited!

Mr. even laid in the grass while we were outside, I was impressed.

We also bought a violet for my pot out front.

There was a rainbow right over our house!!!!

I also made my first iced tea, from Teavana tea, it was really good!!!!

And we made beef tacos, the recipe was eh... I mean they tasted like tacos... Nothing special, but good, cause we like tacos!

Day 119

After coffee with some friends, I went grocery shopping.

I also dropped off my wool sarape blanket at the cleaners, I hope that it comes back in the same shape I dropped it off in! And it doesn't shrink! Since it's all wool!

Then I stopped at the all desert McDonalds, yes, they only serve deserts, I remember they had those in Brazil too!

I have now had McDonalds in every country I've ever been to :)

We also tried out a new restaurant it was very american.

Day 66

We did a lot of work outside today,

We finally built our new fire place

Then I trimmed all of the bushes, and Josh trimmed some trees, we had a total of four bags of yard waste!!!!!

Then it was dinner time!

We made cornflake honey mustard chicken.

This is honey mustard sauce with dill, and other ingredients.

The chicken was coated in the honey mustard sauce, then coated in corn flakes, and baked, then when it comes out put some of the sauce on top...

It was dilly... It was ok... I don't think we will make it gain, it wasn't delicious....

Day 61

A busy day of laundry and freezing my butt off!!!

Day 29

What a nice day!

We didn't leave the house at all, just worked on projects around here.

We spent most of our day building this beauty... Isn't it great?

And we made dinner,

These chicken nuggets are in a marinade for 2 hours

I also made homemade honey mustard sauce, it was pretty good.

Then we coated them in a batter and Josh fried them.

They were okay as chicken nuggets go, they were supposed to be chick-fil-a copycat nuggets... But alas they were not as good...

I don't think we will make them again, not because they were bad, but because they weren't as good as we had hoped...

Also over the night, as we do other nights we had heard a pack of coyotes, when we're woke up in the morning, Josh actually saw one in the field next to our house, he was sleeping in the shade! Crazy!

And I forgot to mention that yesterday I was again mistaken for being quite young, when we met a lady from Washington, she asked if while I was here If I would be going to college, because I looked so young, I had to tell her that no, I received my degree 8.5 years ago! (Can you believe it's been that long??!?!?!) and that I am now a house wife... I suddenly felt old,  the happy to be young looking :) thank you good genes.

Gardens

I've been trying to figure out what is planted in my gardens, so I did some trimming of what was left from the fall and then added in the garden decor my mom made and my solar lights :)

Catch up

Well Catch up seems to be what I'm good at latley.
So here are some things we have been up to

I bought new hot pads for the kitchen, they were on clearance and Josh swears they look like doilies, but they are so cute!

Then we got ready for Easter with a wreath and Easter Egg Decorating
:)


Then We leveled out the back yard since after the new septic system is was a mess,
5 cubic yards of dirt later it looks good!
