Day 301

It was kind of a dreary day,
Mr didn't want me to get up in the morning.
Josh and I ran some errands, then we headed to the gym, and tried out a new cabbage Thai salad recipe, it was pretty good.

After dinner we finally watched the movie Ashby I was in as an extra! And I found myself I a couple of the crowd scenes.

It's like where's Waldo! I'm top left by the guy with than hat.

Here is a better one. I'm bottom left of this one.

And finally right above Nat Wolf's head I'm in a red tank top now :)
I'm famous now!

if you want to read about the day we made the movie check out this post!

Beautiful

I'm lucky to live in a place so pretty, and thankful to have a great place to work where people want to get out to see it as a work group!

Extra! Extra!

Yesterday I was able to go to a movie set and be an extra! For free... So for my volunteer work, I received, lots of water, lunch, and a sunburn... But I also received some knowledge, making a movie is harder than I would have thought, and it can be long, and boring.
We were there for 14 hours,  but it seemed to fly by!
And sometimes we had to be silent, but pretend to be all excited and cheering on the team, so I got to work on my mime skills, let's day after 6 hours of practice they are improved.

The day started with the stands of the football stadium full, and the cameras at a wide angle, and me in the front row. The cameras and the tents moved around and around, I think they are pros at moving tents by now, and by the end, there were about 1/6th of the extras there and the cameras were doing close up shots of the actors.

I also was able to see my first two celebrities ever (if you don't count Disney characters)
Nat Wolff and Emma Roberts.
Please note, I said, SEE, not MEET.
By the end of the day we had been moved around and I was half way up the stands, but if you look closely at the picture the #27 (one of 3) near the cheerleaders is Nat Wolff, he was great, interacted with the crowd, thanked everyone for coming and generally seemed like a nice guy... This can not be said about the others...

Overall it went by fast and was fun... And now I just have to wait for the movie to come out to see if I made it in!

The Holidays are upon us

So last update I only had 3 stars done, now I think I have 11.
However that quilt has had to take a backseat.
The rest of October flew by but I finished this sewing machine cover for my mom's birthday

 and now has November!
only 26 days until I need to have both quilts finished.

In the meantime the first week in November my parents visited. We had a great time

Then we spent a week with Josh's family in Pigeon Forge. We also had a great time.

Now I am back to sewing :D And I promise to dedicate all of my free time to quilting until these two quilts are done!
Today I finished cutting out the fabric for quilt #1.
Now I will work on sewing the HSTs. :D

October update

Well its been about a month ago since I updated.
I have been working a lot since my boss was on vacation, and also I finally caught up on Ironing, and some of my mailing items.
still have a couple things to mail out! Sorry Stacey!

I also celebrated my birthday, the last of the 20s and when I was younger we used to go up north for my birthday. So I thought wouldn't it be nice if we went somewhere outdoorsy, We went backpacking in South Mountains state park, we had a great time!

I have also been working on 2 Projects!
I know I know, Teresa said I would be hooked on working on two at one time, but I'm behind in both I think, I need to get a move on.
I am for sure behind on my quilt along, most everyone else is done, but I'm finally working on my stars (I may have taken a break after that last quilt because well it was a lot of late nights and a lot of sewing... I needed a break)
So far I only have 3 sewn together... and a TON more to go

Also I started working on one of the two twin sized quilts I need to have done by Christmas. I have a little over 1/4 of the squares cut out.

House wife monologue days 1 and 2

Well since my last blog, I moved to North Carolina,
and retired from work, and now am a stay at home wife.
which at day 2 could be a little better.
Yesterday I woke up and packed josh breakfast, did like 5 loads of laundry and then I also signed up for the Y. and unpacked a couple of boxes. Then I made dinner, spaghetti. Josh hauled a couple heavy boxes up stairs and then set up the wireless router...
Today I got up ate breakfast with Josh, packed his lunch and got a birthday card from my mother inlaw... thank you :D
I also washed some bedspreads and balanced the check book and finally went grocery shopping, I thought I would check out food lion since it is pretty much right across the street, they had some of the stuff I needed, but also seemed a little high priced... so I am going to gather pricing data (because I have time to do comparisons now) and figure out which store is the best. But since Food lion didnt have everything I need I headed to the Walmart in Belmont...
well I got lost on the way there :( I had to stop and ask for directions ( I know you are thinking, but Lisa you own a GPS, why yes I do but the walmart and my house are both so new they are not in my GPS... time to update maps) so I stop and ask for directions, and the lady was real nice but she goes "Honey, you aren't from around here are you?" what gave it away? the lack of an accent or the michigan license plate?

Well walmart had some more of the stuff I needed, but not all... so after going to two grocery stores... and getting lost I decided to head home and call it a day... I called josh at work to pick up the one thing I needed for dinner tonight, Manacotti noodles... at yet a second walmart... lets hope they have them. Yes each walmart has different stuff because of the demographic in the area. sigh...

tomorrow I guess I'll try out bilo and another walmart
