Woke up to this furry friend this morning.

Day 550

Today I came home from the gym, and I noticed little clear things all over the floor... and I thought how did the feathers from my Down comforter end up down here? I guess I need to vacuum those up... but when I took a closer look, they were wings from TERMITES!!!
what you see in the picture below is the pile of termites after I sprayed them with killer... and then called Josh in a panic!
This is the wall between the living room and the kitchen... did you know they can chew through cement?
and then this is the molding at the bottom of the wall

Josh's assistant contacted the land lord and they are coming to spray in a couple days!

Days 547-549

After a couple days of vegging out, and doing things like not showering and watching way too many chick flicks I headed out today, and the butterflies were on their migration, and I tried to get some pictures, instead you can not really see any butterflies...

but some beautiful landscapes :D

Since being home I have been mostly catching up on laundry, yes I did some while I was at my parents house, but I'm pretty sure Josh did none!
But I also am headed back to the gym, and this is my view while I wait for my friend to pick me up in the morning.

And we are back to Mexican food :D yum, we went to the Empanada place, so delicious.

Day 517

Today we checked out a new grocery store. (The excitement we have here)
Serve yourself meat

Day 516

Went out with my friends to try out a new restaurant
I got horchata to drink, it tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
We ate off traditional plates, these were not lead free
This is cactus on a bread
And this is corn fungus.
Weirdly the corn fungus was not as bad as the cactus...

Day 510

We found this cat in our back yard, it must have came in on the wall, and it ran around and tried to get out, it turned out it was scared, but really nice. We thought it could be able to get out on its own, but after a little while it didn't, so we opened the side door and it ran out, and hasn't been seen since.

I also saw these at the grocery store, are they good?

Day 503

Today Josh and I took a drive to look for some aqueducts someone in the expat group told me about.
But we found out that they were in a gated community, so we drove around the tiny neighborhood that is really a little town that got swollowed up. So we got to see the rest of the aqueduct system
This ran through the middle of the whole town, it was really cool.

Days 501 & 502

I got a little quilting in before we went to our first child's birthday party
There were lots and lots of treats
An adorable birthday girl
A piñata , of course!
More treats
There was also a fully catered and they also had a bouncy house,
It was a fun day with friends.

Day 496

The big day has arrived!
To run the 1/2 marathon, I woke up so nervous, and we headed out early to get ready for the race. We used the port a potties and lined up.
we were well protected as the guards armed with AK-47s stood atop most of the government buildings surrounding the start.
I was pretty happy at the beginning, this is just after the start line
I had done some research on the course, but hadn't driven or walked it, as we do not go to this end of town much. after the first relativley flat mile, as you can see fromthe picture below, the next 6K were straight up a mountain... over 500 feet of elevation gain...
at the top of the mountain I go passed by a couple women dressed similar to this lady, who is in a traditional mexican style dress and if you notice sandals! I also got passed by a monk... running in full dress and sandals as well...
then after we ran back down most of the mountain, we got to run through beautiful downtown. I wanted the picture below pretty badly, i told Josh where to stand and thankfully I saw him as I was running up so I could dodge across the street so I would be in the picture :D

then we ran around the alemeda downtown (a park), and down a hill, and back up for 5K and finally back onto some flat road! just in time to come in for the finish, I was pretty exhausted by then I almost cried up the last 5K because I wanted it to be over...
and finally it was, I finished and chugged some water, and felt like dying, I couldn't find my friends and really wanted to use a potty again, my stomach hurt so bad, but really not until I stopped running, it didn't hurt at all while i was running.
so finally we found my friends, and we stopped to take this picture,I was still dying in this picture

Josh drove me home, and then I took a good 2 hour nap, and finally felt better! So I went to the sign to get my picture, like I had wanted to do after I finished my race, but there was no way I could have made it!
and then we ate tacos.
The end.

Days 489 & 490

After an uneventful Sunday, Monday got us both back to work.
I finished up the table runner for my friend's birthday.
My first finish of the year, I am ashamed.
And in the evening, Josh and I finally took some time to walk through our new neighborhood.
Picturesque.

Day 484

The unpacking continues, my kitchen is a disaster...
And Mr has found a refuge among the clutter
I think the guys are done working on the wall, today they are having their siesta in the closet. They look a little dead.

Day 483

Today we are still moving in, and they are working on our back wall
Mr is trying out hiding places in the new house.
This is the truck that moved our furniture...and all the workers rode on the inside. Good thing is we didn't move far.
Mr was testing his fear of heights, I guess he doesn't have one.
Then they discovered that the mattresses would not fit up the stairs.so the had to lift them over the balcony!
Thankfully they all made it safely
And all of our extra furniture doesn't fit in this house we finally have a plan to donate it!!!! More than a year later!
Our old house looks so empty and it echoes.
While we were doing our final clean up it rained a ton, and flooded the streets!
