Happy Thanksgiving

We spent the day hanging out and cooking. It was nice to have everyone there.

Tennessee cont.

After hanging out at the house for he day while the boys had a "boys day out/bachelor party" fly fishing.

The girls finally got a chance to head out :)
We hot up the spa,
My first pedicure ever, I've never had one because I've always been afraid I would kick the person, it took some serious control to not lose it to the tickling during this...
Also this little Asian man asked me where I was from and when I told him I lived in Mexico he told me my English was very good... Lol...
Keep in mind that Dave's daughter is 1/2 Mexican and Josh's Aunt that was with us is 100% Mexican... I do not look Mexican at all compared to them!

We got manicures, I tried out the gel polish, wow that stuff lasts forever, it's like 6 weeks later and I still have some of it on and can't get it off!

We ate some lunch then stopped by the house to pick up my sister in law to go get our massages.

The massages were weird, they put three of us in a room, I went in with my mother in law... Awkward... And there were two male masseuses(sp?) thankfully I had a girl, but they did the hot rock massage part, it was pretty great.

Overall I've had better less awkward massages.

Tennessee

Josh and I went for a short hike where I tested out my new hiking boots, they sucked and hurt my feet, so those will be returned, and Josh did a bit of fly fishing and finally we checked into our Canin with the rest of the fam.
The first snow I've seen this year.

The next night we hit up the Dixie Stampede.
It's the same show every year, but you see something different every time.

Day 341

The day started in Mexico and ended in Frosty Tennessee!

My first first-class experience, and probably my last. Some how I got booked in 1st class and Josh was back in coach.

The seats were bigger and the service, Wow!
It was pretty great!
I even checked out a couple of the lounges
Not clear, but, a buffet, a full bar, and Starbucks coffee and tea.
It was kind of sad without Josh, so o grabbed some coffee and headed back out with the normal people.

Then we drove through the forest in the middle of the night, I was stressed out and Josh was driving the rental a little fast, a challenger, because that's the most responsible car...

But we made it to our hotel, walked around Gatlinburg
All dressed up for Christmas and cold too! Last week I was getting a tan, and this week I'm freezing, great.
To end the night we took a ride on the sky lift, I'm afraid of heights, but it wasn't that bad.

Days 337- 340

My last days in Mexico for a while.
I unpacked from one trip, did laundry cleaned house, and started packing for another, this one longer, 5 weeks, 3 holidays and 2 weddings.

Mr knew we were planning to leave and was inhibiting me getting ready. And our lime trees have huge limes again!
Okay, maybe huge isn't the word...
But we are off to our hotel by the airport for our early flight out tomorrow.

Days 334-336

.We had to wake up early after the wedding since we had booked an excursion.

We went to an adventure park with one of our friends, more people were supposed to go, but backed out, so it was just us 3.
We zip lined
Alone...
And they hooked us get her for the bigger ones so if you didn't weigh enough you would still make it.

We even zip lined into a cave!
And in hammocks

We stopped at one of the cafes and had a morning snack, and these little birds were there such beautiful contrast!

We went on a driving adventure through caves and over bridges.
And we canoed and swam through a cave, it was cold, but really cool, I'm not sure you can swim in a cave in the US

Finally we walked through the caves to get different places, but these real dinosaur bones are just hanging out in the cave, not protected or anything, is t that crazy???

The next day we hung out in the pool all day , it was raining, but the pool bar was covered... So we did some day drinking...

And finally we had to come home on day 336.

Day 333

Now for the real reason we flew to Cancun!
The wedding, we were lucky enough to have our friends get married in Mexico!

All the LCA guys that made it! I'm glad Josh got to hang out with his friends.

What's a wedding in Mexico without a mariachi band?

Congrats Bu and Haley

Day 332

We booked a trip to go see the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza

It was a early morning rise. But we headed out on a two hour bus ride, to the city.
After you put your ticket into the gate and go through you have to walk down a big path filled with vendors trying to sell you things and you walk out into a field where the pyramids and city rise up high.
It was an amazing view, and our tour guide was really great, and we learned a great deal about the culture.

This is the main pyramid, and my second world wonder. You used to be able to climb the steps to the top back in like 2004. I bet that was amazing!

They also had an observatory, the Mayans were far ahead of their time with their understanding of space and the world!

These pillars were used to hold up a huge roof that was made out of wood and palm fronds, but they lead to another pyramid, where they performed human sacrifices... Which is crazy to me, but it was very interesting.
after our super hot day at the city it was in the 90s with high humidity, we headed to a nearby cenote to swim.
A cenote is a sink hole essentially, but they are fed by under ground springs and some are even in a cave or partial cave like this one. Some of the cenotes they sacrificed people in, this one they did not, but this cenote is so deep they can not even scuba dive to the bottom of it! And there is an underground river that runs into it. The water was much warmer than I expected too!

After a quick swim we headed upstairs for dinner. While we were eating a huge rainstorm came in! Thankfully we went swimming first!

Then on to our 2 hour bus ride home, after 14 hours we were exhausted!!!

Day 331

I'm not sure he has moved...

And I finished cleaning the house and packing! It's off to Cancun tomorrow!!! I can not wait to see another part of the country!

Day 327-330

Mr thinks it is getting cold, I've found him huddeling between pillows and on blankets everywhere.
I now have to wash absolutely everything on this bed if anyone ever visits.

But other than that I've been hitting up the gym and doing chores around the house, nothing too exciting.

Day 326

We skipped the gym today, so I slept in and it was glorious.
When I did get up I did my chores then I sat down and took off those two rows fro. The quilt, resewed some of the seams and then ordered the fabric we decided on. And I cut the fabric for the first border, I need to see that on... Maybe next week.

When Josh got home we made cheater Chicken pot pie.
It was pretty good.

Day 325

My client came over and saw the quilt today, she wants it two rows shorter. So I need to take the rows off... We talked about how she wants is quilted, and the backing and border, now to pick out more fabric. Yey!

Then I got distracted after my MAT studying and my Spanish practicing with filling out my application.
I have a couple things I need to ask the school about my address, and my next step is to write a personal statement... Yikes! Why do I think I would make a good librarian?

Josh had to work late, I picked him up at 8pm, so instead of making dinner we went out and then we watched a show and headed to bed. We are super exciting...

Days 323 and 324

Monday was the usual laundry and chores. I was feeling super motivated and got almost everything done I needed to.
And over the weekend Josh and I talked about it and we are both going to get our masters. He just needs to apply and I have to take a test, so I started studying.

On Tuesday I finished this beast of a top. It is a little bigger than I expected it to be...

Then I did more catching up on my calendar quilt.
I rocked out my July and August blocks.
This was all I had planned, so now I need to go through my fabric and see what I have and what I need for the September and October blocks.

Then we made dinner
Hoisin shrimp, except we couldn't find the hoisin sauce, so we used stir fry sauce, it was really good.

Day 322

After a mostly lazy day we headed to the gym for a run, I had a great 5k, I really think the lifting weight workout in the morning is helping me get through my run again.

Mr hung out with his square most of the day.

Then we made delicious apple cinnamon pork chops.
We will make these again

Day 321

Today was Halloween, so we skipped a run in the afternoon, and after all it was raining. So Mr wanted to be all cuddly
And I prepared for Halloween
Our only Halloween decoration.
We got 6 trick or treaters, some of the, were dressed up like Katerinas and a witch I don't remember what else. We have a ton of extra candy! Now I know why everyone gains weight between Halloween and New Years!

Day 319 and 320

Turns out our Spanish teacher quit again. So no more Spanish class for the rest of the year. Ugh why is it so hard to get a good Spanish class? I am going to keep up with Rosetta Stone as long as I'm home... A month off will be a blow to my Spanish I'm sure! Yikes!

On Friday I finally did some catching up on my calendar quilt.
June block done.

Then Josh and I tried out a new restaurant, it was no good... We won't be going back.

Day 318

I spent most of my day working on my client quilt.
It's too big for my sewing room, I'm done with the top except 3 seams, I need to get these done before I head back to the US so I can order backing and talk to the client about a border and binding.

I also finished watching all 10 seasons of friends... It was sad when it was over... It was a good show, I had never watched it before...
But now what do I watch? I seriously have nothing!!!

Day 317

After the gym I slacked off a bit then I spent my day cleaning the master bath, I'm so happy it's clean now! And with mostly window closed season coming up it should stay dust free... So that is good news! How ever since there isn't an exhaust fan, it will get mildewy... Yuck...

Then in the evening I hung out with Mr., Josh had people in town so he was out to dinner.

Day 316

About a month ago, my friends and I ordered tamales, the day to pick them up came.
This is the tiny kitchen they make them in, it is a small family business.
Down this little alley.

When we got them home we had to lay them out because they had been steamed, if I would have just put them in freezer bag they would have gotten all soggy.
I got three kinds, cheese, bean and chicken. We tried them out for dinner, they were so delicious!

Mr spent his day on the red square again...
And really wanted to cuddle with the quilt.

Day 315

We had a lazy rainy day, thanks hurricane Patricia.
But...
My quilt found a home :)

Days 313 and 314

Friday was good, work out then coffee with friends and Josh and I hung out.

Then on Saturday Josh had to work so o got some sewing time.

My fourth finish for the year, and I decided to keep it...
