Day 136

Monday. So of course I did laundry!
And I worked on some cleaning, I cleaned up the main room upstairs, there was a ton of dust, but while I was steam mopping, I accidentally scratched the coffee table :(

We tried two recipes out again for juicing,
We had this breakfast juice
There were beets in it. I really liked this one

And for lunch we tried out this one
It had orange bell peppers in it and oranges, it was interesting, and a lot better than I expected, especially since I don't like peppers.

Then I worked on some sewing since I had a tad of extra time :)

Day 135

After sleeping in a bit, we had our breakfast juice.
It was some grapefruit punch or something, it looks green, but it tasted very grapefruity... It was really good!

For lunch we had the mean green, which is the main juice they drank in the documentary. It was a bit gingery but not too bad, better than I expected as well.

Then Josh vaccumed the pool while I cleaned our new deck chairs!
Don't mind the cushions, they are Mexican...

And we put up our fence cover so Mr. Won't escape hopefully out of the yard!

We also tried out a new restraunt , it was pretty good.
Check out this adorable mini key lime pie... I'm impressed with the tiny meringue!
Also these super old cars were in the parking lot!

Day 134

What a beautiful day!
Josh mowed the lawn, and I cleaned the patio by the pool that had a pile of mud from the recent rains, then we, like most slackers, finally bought the things to implement out plan for our fence for when Mr. Meow comes home.

And we bought some fruit and veggies for our trial juicing.
This is enough to make 4 servings of juice.

You need to drink 4-6 servings of juice a day it says... 64-120oz of juice.
We are just going to try out a couple receipes so after Easter we can actually do the juice reboot.

Day 133

Today they finally came and fixed my roof!!! In both places, I was so happy!
After about 3-4 hours work, no more mold and hopefully no more leaks!
The sewing room leak repaired!
And the maids shower! Yey!

We are running out of things to watch on Netflix, so Josh saw a documentary he wanted to watch, called "Fat, sick and nearly dead".
We watched it and it was really interesting, and now Josh wants to Juice to reboot our health... Sounds interesting to me...

Day 132

It was a slow start to the day.
Then the people finally came to look at our leaking ceiling!
After they left I worked on ancestry and I think I have finally entered all of the research I have done. I think that I will talk to Josh about a membership soon.
Then I did a little studying for my spanish test.
And then ate more left over soup... I'm over soup...
Finally we took our test!
Great news over all I got a 94% and Josh a 92%

We start the next session after easter

Day 131

Today I went with a friend of mine to help serve birthday lunch to her daughters class. Here instead of just sending in cookies or cupcakes, you have to serve a whole lunch, pizza, drinks and cupcakes is what we had. It was for her 4th birthday. They start school at 3 here. All the little kids were in uniforms it was kind of cute. They sang happy birthday in English and in spanish.
When I got home, I ate a little lunch, did some dishes and ironing, and then I was pretty tired, so I took a nap :) it was refreshing since I wanted to be awake for the big Spanish test! After my nap I did some studying, I think it paid off. I got a 92% and Josh got an 87%. I did much better than I expected!
Tomorrow is the oral test! Eek! More studying to do!
After the test we headed to the gym, and finally I had a good run! The weather was great!

Day 130

After catching up on some laundry, dishes and house cleaning, I had a couple hours to sew.
I worked on a block for my cousin's baby quilt.
The puppy s now done :)
And I started this block... What do you think it's going to be?

I also made french onion soup.
It was ok... Josh hates it and now refuses to eat leftovers, there is no way I can eat the rest of it on my own, so I refuse to make anything else until it's gone... Ha! I won't be making this again.

Day 129

After spending most of the day researching vacation options, and I'm still stressed out about all the options! I finally got my but in gear and knocked out a couple loads of laundry.
When Josh got home we made some dinner.
Pizza bread, not that great.

Day 128

We decided to actually be productive, the sun was out so we hung out for a bit, studied spanish for a couple hours, went to the gym, cleaned the car and the pool!
We went to the grocery store and this was in the fresh fish section
Shark anyone?

It was so nice put we decided to grill out.

Days 126& 127

Both days were pretty laid back, and rainy. We finished watching breaking bad, all 5 seasons, it was a good show overall.
Went out to dinner with some friends, and had a relaxing time.

Day 125

So again I've been slacking on my posting duties,
But I had a couple friends over on Thursday to force them to craft, they both claim they are not crafty.
So I made a couple of appetizers.
Buffalo chicken cups, these called for wanton wrappers, but, I could not find them, so I used rice papers. It worked ok, but they were a hair mushy on the bottom still. But the contents of the cups were pretty good, Josh didn't really like it.

I also made pizza dip, it smelled just like pizza, and it was awesome! Josh loved it too.

We each made a sharpie mug, I made the one with mountains, but I think they all turned out really nice!

Then one of the girls brought this mexican fruit, yes fruit. You peel the shell off, and inside you have to pull some strings, and there are some seeds, but it tastes like a sour gummy bear, it was really good.

Day 124

So one of my friends kids got sick, so we postponed our craft day till tomorrow.

Instead my friend picked me up and we headed out to do a little scouting for the next craft day, we are going to make those leather "magic braid" bracelets.
Also my friend and I were both looking for wanton wrappers, but had no luck finding them.

We did find some leather though
About a yard and a half an inch wide for 98 pesos, so at the current exchange rate, $6.
Which I thought was a great deal!

So the guy in the leather shop spoke great english which was awesome! He went to cut our leather and pulled out a whole cow hide!!!! It was crazy! They also had 3 old singer treadle sewing machines, next time I'll have to take a picture of them.
Also they said they would put snaps on for $6 pesos! Which is less than 40 cents a piece! Not too bad.

Also I made enchilada soup, Josh loved it.
I had to sauté onions and garlic, followed by browning ground beef! All on my own! And I cooked with jalapeños!

Day 123

Since I shirked some of responsibilities yesterday I had to catch up today!
I worked on laundry cleaned the guest bath, which was a feet...
Josh hung out new clock, real Mexican huh?

I finished the binding for the baby quilt
And I know it's not ancestry Thursday, but I got a message from Josh's aunt about her family and was asking me if I had found where they lived in Poland, I didn't though :( I'll have to work on that next time!

And I picked up my sarape blanket! It came out great! I'm so happy, and we put it over our coach up stairs! I love it!

Days 120- 122

Saturday was a slow day, we hung out at home for a while, then did some shopping for some stuff we wanted to pick up,

Sunday we practiced our spanish...
For 4. Hours.
I think it helped though, I remember some of it now :)

Monday Monday,
I shirked most of my laundry duties, only managing to get 3 loads done, then, I went out with my friends. We went to lunch and hung out at the mall for a bit.
The girls gave away their tickets to a little boy so he could go get prizes.
While we were waiting in line they wheeled all of the fire extinguishers by... Thankfully there was no fire while we were in the movies!

before watching the new Cinderella. It was cute. We watched in the VIP theater
Recliners, and food service! All for only $5! Which is more expensive than the regular movies! (Movies here are cheap!)

Then I headed home with Josh to make dinner
We made loaded baked potatoe buffalo chicken
It was spicy, but Josh said its one of his new favorites...

Saturday, March 14, 2015

Day 119

After coffee with some friends, I went grocery shopping.
I also dropped off my wool sarape blanket at the cleaners, I hope that it comes back in the same shape I dropped it off in! And it doesn't shrink! Since it's all wool!
Then I stopped at the all desert McDonalds, yes, they only serve deserts, I remember they had those in Brazil too!
I have now had McDonalds in every country I've ever been to :)

This little guy now hangs out by my door
We also tried out a new restaurant it was very american.

Friday, March 13, 2015

Day 118

What a great, but tiring day!
I woke up early, got dinner in the crock pot, then got ready to head out to the ranch with my friend.
We did a 5k run, which was a challenge and I didn't make it the whole way, I need to build my endurance back up.
Then we went for an hour and a half horse back ride where we did a lot of trotting, it was fun!!!!
Then we had Tamales
My first tamale! They were really good! Cheryl had bought 250 around Christmas time because that is when they make them for only $900 pesos, that's a good deal. I told her I'll put in an order this year for done too! Yum yum.
We only have one more chapter of spanish left before we have to take our test! I really need to study, my spanish is horrible. :(

Thursday, March 12, 2015

Day 117

Today was a lady in my group's birthday, so we got together for brunch. I gave her the sharpie mug I had made. She seems to like it.

Then after I came home from brunch I lazed around a bit, then did some dishes, and watched Mansfield park, it was interesting, and I also did some ironing, we cancelled spanish class because Josh went to the funeral home for someone he works with's mom.

I also started reading this easy teen lit book.
I'm hoping it will be a quick easy read, lighter than the last book I read.

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Day 116

After finishing my dishes early and some special laundry things, I headed into sewing!
I finishes the blocks, and sewed the squares, and rows together! I finished the top! After talking to my sister and working through pictures to rearrange squares to balance out the dark blue.

Next week I'll make the binding and pack up the leftover fabric to bring it back to the U.S. For storage! And work on 2 squares for my cousin's baby quilt.

What project should I bring back? I have my mother in laws wedding quilt to finish by August, and I have a pillow I'm making for my Grandma... I think I'll bring back my rainbow quilt, it's almost finished, I'll just need to sew the boarder on, then, quilt and bind....

Also it rained here! And I found another leak!
 In my sewing room :(

I splashed on my fabric a bit! So hopefully it gets fixed soon.

It has been raining a lot lately, hence the leaks, and so our roads turn into rivers!
We even saw the sewer/drainage cover up in the air water gushing out! It was crazy!

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Day 115

Laundry, of course because it's Monday!
And I cleaned the office and its bathroom.

Josh got home late from work, after he went in at 4am, so we did some grocery shopping and then hung out a bit.
We bought a Mexican potatoe at the grocery store
Called a jicama
You cut it up and eat it raw
Sometimes with a salty, citrus stuff
I think they were better plain,
They taste a little like fresh raw green beans and a potatoe at the Same time, but jucier...
Also I made this mug for a friend here who's birthday is this week. I hope the sharpie mug lasts!

Monday, March 9, 2015

Day 114

Josh slept in till noon, which isn't like him,
Then We finished our trip planning, and hung out at home.
We also made dinner
Fried rice, it was ok, but I probably won't make this recipe again,
And I had a hard time finding edamame, so the beans I here aren't edamame, but they were close.

Days 111 to 113

Josh was away on a work trip, so I had the day to myself, after doing some dishes, and hanging out on the couch, I worked on ancestry until my iPad died.
I ended up,adding 80 people to my tree,
I mostly got the information from my mom's cousin who has been working on ancestry since who knows when, but had it all on paper instead of online... Crazy right? Lol
So there are 1218 people in my family tree now.

Friday
Josh came home! I was happy to see him. But I only saw him for an hour. Then he had to go back in to work. Then a couple hours later he came home and we went to sleep.

Saturday,
We hung out at home, relaxing, doing some spanish homework, planning our trips for the year, and watching a couple movies off Netflix, it was relaxing.

Day 110

Nothing too exciting, expect I was doing dishes,
And I bought this last week,
A giant infuser! I can have a tea party now! And infuse a whole pot of tea! Since I didn't bring my Teavana pot with me! I'm excited!

Also I finished my book, the 19th wife.
It was good, interesting that some of it was real, and some of it was fiction, and interesting mix. Not a quick read for sure.

Day 108 & 109

I've been really bad about keeping current on my updates...

So Monday, again, laundry, and cleaning, this week, I dusted, vaccumed, and mopped the master closet and bedroom.

Tuesday,
After finishing up some laundry, And doing dishes I was able to get a little sewing done.
I finished about half of this baby quilt, but when I took the picture,I noticed the left side is heavy on the dark blue, I'll finish laying out the blocks and see how it looks the. Rearrange if necessary.

Also I made this tortilla soup, it was pretty good, I didn't add peppers because I don't like them, but I think next time I'll make it I'll add one, it needed a little bit of bite... But it was good, even as left overs :)

Friday, March 6, 2015

Day 107

We were invited to spend the day at my friend's ranch.
So we took the drive out there, and had a great time!
We got to ride horses

we had a cook out and then I went for a walk with my friend to see the wild life
There were tons of these little prairie dogs, that are endangered here.

And these burrowing owls! that are very endangered, they live in the prairie dog's abandoned homes. can you see the one in the middle of the picture flying?
it was a really great day!
