Day 316

About a month ago, my friends and I ordered tamales, the day to pick them up came.
This is the tiny kitchen they make them in, it is a small family business.
Down this little alley.

When we got them home we had to lay them out because they had been steamed, if I would have just put them in freezer bag they would have gotten all soggy.
I got three kinds, cheese, bean and chicken. We tried them out for dinner, they were so delicious!

Mr spent his day on the red square again...
And really wanted to cuddle with the quilt.

Day 315

We had a lazy rainy day, thanks hurricane Patricia.
But...
My quilt found a home :)

Days 313 and 314

Friday was good, work out then coffee with friends and Josh and I hung out.

Then on Saturday Josh had to work so o got some sewing time.

My fourth finish for the year, and I decided to keep it...

Day 312

Josh came home!!!!
And he brought me a few things!
He really does love me!

And I got a little bit of sewing done on my client quilt, the squares are getting bigger.

Day 312

I got up and headed to the gym. Then I came home and napped for two hours. It was fabulous.
Then I did a few chores and talked to Josh a bit and called it a night.

Day 311

Started out with a class at the gym, then I went to brunch with my friends.
On my way out I saw this.
Glad that's in the middle of the road, no big deal...

Then I waited for them to come fix my oven
Mr waited on his red square

Finally they came.
This is my temporary knob.
Supposedly I will get a real one in two or three weeks.

Mr spent more time on his square.

And I attached the binding on my road to TN on the back of the quilt.
I'm running low on the thread I used, so I texted Josh to pick me up some while he is home... Fingers crossed the right stuff comes back.
Then I made a peanut Thai noodle dinner, it was not awesome.

Day 310

I dropped Josh off at work so I would have the car, and this is what I came home to... I think he thought I was leaving him too...
He was pretty excited when I walked in the door.

Back to the gym, this time our teacher was a guy, he was a little disconnected, but what I liked was he counted for us, the lady teacher lets you count on your own, I lose count when it's a good song because I turn to singing in my head to ignore the pain.
Over all though, he had a good work out that I got a good pain from, and I can still walk :)

The other day when I bought Mr some food, it came with a scratching post, Mr has never really used a scratching post, even though we have one for him, he likes things on the ground. So the scratching post they gave us required some assembly, but they did not include the screw to do so... Mr is enjoying the platform all the same.
It might it last long... This happened in one day...

Then while I waited for them to come and put a new knob on my stove I sewed.
I finished all of the client quilt 4 patches, Yey! I need to finish this top before the middle of November.

Then in the evening, with the husband away, I got out some wine and a movie to watch
And Mr hung out too...
On his new favorite item in the house.

Days 308 & 309

This weekend we slept in and bummed around the house doing a few chores, and we are apparently turned into real Mexicans. We had tacos both days for breakfast.

Day 307

The day started out with skipping the gym, because is was still a 100 year old lady, and I wanted to go running this weekend.

So I slept in. And so did this guy
He still is in love with this chair.
I hung out with my friends for a few hours, met some new ones, then headed home.
After I got my chores done, I worked on my binding, I already had it cut, so I sewed it together and started pinning it on.

I'm excited that I'm almost done!
Once I finish this it will be my 4th finish this year, a record for me. I have only finished 3 in one year before, except the year I did 4 doll quilts, I don't think those count.

After Josh got home with our new car we hit up the gym, I had a great run.
Then we headed to his HR managers birthday party.
This is half of the catered birthday party.
They had a band. That box thing he is playing is like a drum. Then when the band took a break a mariachi band came to visit around midnight.
Then the band started back up, can you imagine people doing this in the US in the middle of a neighborhood at this time of night??? Me either...
For dinner which was served at 10pm, we had tacos, and cupcakes.

Day 306

That third day at the gym, I essentially can not move, it hurts, I hobble around and I feel like I'm 100... I had to catch up on my ironing, and dishes, then I went to bed super early... Tomorrow will be better...

I did work on my client quilt a bit, sewed some of the blocks into big 4 patches, only like 15 more of those to go... Then I need to sew the 4 patches together into giant 4 patches... This thing is going to be huge.

Then for dinner I made white chicken chili, it was a little more soupy than chilly, but it was pretty good...

Days 304 and 305

Well bright and early in the morning my friends and I decided to try out a new gym.
The class we went to kicked our butts!!! So we decided to sign up for a month of them... What were we thinking?

Wenesday I went to a market that was in town with crafts from all over the country, it was really neat.
Here are the things I picked up.
And I got it all for less than $40!

Copper is really big here, they have big copper bowls, but I picked up these candle sticks

Finally a tea cup!

These are wooden earrings, how cute!
I plan to have this framed, I guess framing here is pretty cheap,  it this is made out of paper, when I showed it to Josh he didn't love it, but they looked really good in the frames.

Also, last night our stove broke!
So now we can not turn the oven on... No baking for me until this gets fixed :(

He is still in love with this chair...

Days 302 and 303

More chores around the house.
Nothing exciting for our Sunday.

Monday Josh went to work, and the. Around 7:15 everything in the house beeped, then went silent, the power went out. Right after the power went out I heard sirens and a fire truck horn... I knew there had been an accident. I told Josh about the power and his assistant called to check on it, because we wanted to make sure that it wasn't some other reason our power was out, and in fact it was because of the accident, so I had to think of things to do with out power,
Usually on Mondays I do laundry and cleaning, not today!

So I decided to trim my quilt.
And I just love it!
Here is a close up of some of my quilting.
I can't fall in love with it more everyday, it will be hard to give away.

After I trimmed it I thought, well maybe I could do some cutting, but no, everything needed ironing, so I decided it was a perfect day to read, so I opened the blinds in my bedroom and read for most of the day, around 2:30 the power came back on and I had to get back to my chores.

Day 301

It was kind of a dreary day,
Mr didn't want me to get up in the morning.
Josh and I ran some errands, then we headed to the gym, and tried out a new cabbage Thai salad recipe, it was pretty good.

After dinner we finally watched the movie Ashby I was in as an extra! And I found myself I a couple of the crowd scenes.

It's like where's Waldo! I'm top left by the guy with than hat.

Here is a better one. I'm bottom left of this one.

And finally right above Nat Wolf's head I'm in a red tank top now :)
I'm famous now!

if you want to read about the day we made the movie check out this post!

Day 300

This morning I rode with Josh to work.
And the traffic was backed up super bad!
Then we saw this,

I hope the driver was ok!

Then we went and got our Mexican drivers licenses!!!!
They wanted to know our blood type... I have no idea what mine is... Is this a normal thing to know???

Later when I was home I walked up the stairs to see this...
That is a 10-12ft wall...I never see people, but they are building a neighborhood right on the other side, so I think they were doing some brick work... Still startled me.

Day 299

I forgot to post this pic yesterday.
I worked on sewing the 9 patches from the client quilt into big 4 patches.

Today I quilted my road to TN quilt
I did diagonal both ways.
I love how it came out, I only have 1 big pucker I think, and it's not terrible. I'm pretty happy!!!

And Mr had not left his new chair, so I had to put a towel on it so he doesn't ruin it, he still thinks it's great though.

Day 298

Today is my 32nd birthday,
But being an adult it doesn't mean anything special, chores and a bit of sewing even Spanish class.
Mr was being adorable though.
After Spanish class we stopped by the store and saw a teddy bear that was taller than me!!! And bought my birthday cake, YUM!

Day 297

Today I got together with my friends and one of their maids taught us how to make mole verde, it was so good! I hope I can make it as well as her!
Then they celebrated my birthday! They are so sweet!
In the evening we want to see a Mexican traditional dance festival

These were all little tiny girls, they were terribly out of sync, but adorable.

Then the college kids danced, they were really good
Most of my pictures are blurry,
But here are the college girls dancing with a candle on their head, it was really impressive...
There were some professional groups, I really think a lot of it was arm work, swishing the dress around.
Then This weird Italian group took the stage... And they were horrible.
And they danced with sticks
Then the final act was a mariachi band and some professional dancers representing each state in Mexico and their traditional dress and dance,
Lots of skirt flailing.

But it was interesting none the less.
