Day 156

I finished all of the pressing and cutting, only a couple more blocks to trim.
I started watching dr. Who, what a weird show!
Here are the layout options for my blocks...
And any combination there of...

Oh! And since the other couple that was down here with us left, I got their TV!
My sewing room is so happy! And it's a smart tv! So I can watch Netflix on it!

Day 155

And we started session two of spanish class

Day 154

Back to the chores, between blowing my nose.
We must not have worn that many clothes this week, I got through the laundry pretty quickly.
Which gave me time for sewing.
Here is a sneak peak at block b. I'm hoping it turns out better than block a...
Then we made lime shrimp.
I couldn't find a lime zoster like we needed, so I tried out a cheese grater... I need more practice I guess...
After the marinade for 30 minutes they were dropped in the frying pan and came out delicious!!!!! I will so be making these again, it was quick and easy.

Day 153

This was my view most of the day on Sunday,
I have been battling this new found allergy season for a couple weeks now, I have completely went through 3 boxes of Kleenex. Not cool. Usually i don't have spring allergies, I tend to have more fall allergies, because of the molds that come out in the fall... Maybe I'm allergic to cactus pollen?

Josh cleaned the pool out.
When he was emptying the filter basket he goes... Um, I think this is a dead baby alligator...
What! No, just a big lizard, the first lizard I've seen here at our house,

Day 152

So we finally did it!
We bought lime trees!
I hope they survive! The wind really wiped them up after we potted them!
They already have tiny baby limes on them! I'm pretty excited!
Mr. even laid in the grass while we were outside, I was impressed.
We also bought a violet for my pot out front.
There was a rainbow right over our house!!!!

I also made my first iced tea, from Teavana tea, it was really good!!!!
And we made beef tacos, the recipe was eh... I mean they tasted like tacos... Nothing special, but good, cause we like tacos!

Are you tired of pictures of this little guy yet?

Day 151

After staying up late, then it got windy and things were making weird noises, I got about 4 hours sleep before I had to wake up and drive Josh to work.
Mr. Was convinced every time I tried to leave the house he needed to go outside too.
I tried to get more pressing done, but I was so tired I decided to nap instead :)

On my drive to pick Josh up from work. You can see the construction on the road, no signs, to flag man to help you cross safely to the other side and drive past the construction, welcome to Saftey in Mexico!

We made buffalo chicken taquitos for dinner, Josh really liked them, I will put these on the make again list.

Day 150

My quilt group is amazing,
They suggested a couple different layouts for my block.
I like the diamond ones best... I will see what happens with Block B before I make any final decisions.
I couldn't sleep again last night.
So I did some ore sewing.
All 900 HSTs are sewn together now.
I just need to cut, press and trim the second half.

Day 149

For lunch today I thought I would try elote soup, essentially its cream corn soup, but it's pretty good.
And I continued the torture today and finished 1/2 of the HSTs
And I was so excited! Because this meant I could lay out block A!
And then I hated it, and wanted to cry!
It was bothering me so much I couldn't sleep, and stayed up and sewed another hundred HSTs for Block B

Day 148

Day 1 of torture
Pressing those 260 squares I sewed, and trimming the little triangles off of them!

Day 147

Laundry and sewing.
Josh has people in from all over so he is gone all day and night for work.
I got a lot of sewing in,
260 HSTs sewn,
640 to go

Day 146

We cleaned the pool today,
Mr. Thought he would help, he even dipped a paw in.

Then we headed to the airport to pick up one of Josh's coworkers, it was a nice relaxing day.

Day 145

After cleaning up the mess outside the storm left behind,
We relaxed by the pool
Mr. joined us
Then we got ready and headed out to a salsa dance recital/presentation.
It was really cool, we even got to see the national champs, they were pretty impressive!
This girl was only 11, her partner is her teacher, he is 19

What I learned about salsa:
1. You need to be very comfortable with your body
2. You need to be very comfortable with your partner
3. It's very sexually charged

I'm still trying t
I convince Josh it would be an awesome experience to take classes :)

Day 144

So...
This happened today, apparently his own water was too far away...
Keep in mind he is now a fancy cat and only drinks bottled water too...

And two weeks after I started 900 3.5in squares cut! Throw a party!

Day 143

Nothing too exciting today, just regular chores and more cutting
Every morning Mr. Knows when I'm just waking up and hops into bed to be adorable for a little while each morning.
I really missed him.
I'm happy to have him back.

Day 142

I had a lot planned for today. I wanted to make black bean burgers, and work on sewing and some organizing.
I had to make the black bean burger mix in the morning, since it needed to sit in the fridge for at least two hours, and I was going to use my new food processor attachment for my mixer. I haven't really used a food processor before, or this attachment, so it was going to be a learning experience.
I read he instruction manual because I didn't want to mess anything up, and then I asked my cousin who uses her food processor all the time for some advice. Then I got started.
It looks kind of silly attached.
And it's not like a regular food processor. It drops everything into a bowl below, instead of keeping it in an internal bowl
And it comes with all of these attachments.
So I started to put my things through the food processor and everything was great until the beans, they turned into bean paste and blockd the holes and the. There was bean paste everywhere, it was a mess, if I would have realized I had a hole cleaner, I would have used it... Oops, I'll know for next time.

It all went through and then I mixed it up like you would with regular hamburger, then put it in the fridge.
I organized some new shelves for mr, and the outdoor things

Cut more squares

I pattied up the black bean burgers, and Josh fried them.
And we melted some Gouda cheese, they were delicious! We will make these again.

Day 141

I bought some tea while I was home, and I finally got to taste it today
Dragon fruit devotion, I had some while I was home with a green tea mixed in and it was delicious! I liked the dragon fruit on its own, but I think the jasmine green tea pearls added something, I liked the mix better :)

We also made ranch Parmesan breaded chicken breasts, they were delicious!
I am so happy I smuggled in some ranch seasoning packets!
